Now, 138 bhp is a lot of power and I expected the 16-valve Safari to fly, but we were a little disappointed by its performance. It does blast off the block, but after that there is a turbo lag. But once the turbo kicks in at 1500 rpm, it takes off smooth and fast and keeps up the pace till the needle goes on the other side of 2500 rpm.
