2.2 VTT DiCOR Engine |

The
new Safari Dicor is fitted with the
new generation 2.2 L Dicor (Direct injection
common rail) engine that is operated
by a 32-bit electronic control unit
and incorporates state-of-the-art technology.
While lowering emission and fuel consumption
by a few notches, the new engine delivers
an incredible peak power of 140 PS and
a maximum torque of 320 Nm.
VARIABLE TURBINE TECHNOLOGY
(VTT)
The new 2.2 L Dicor engine is equipped
with a specially designed turbocharger
using Variable Turbine Technology (VTT).
It provides exceptional flexibility
in controlling engine air requirements
over extremely broad speed range &
load range. This not only boosts power
and torque but also lowers fuel consumption
and emission under all operating conditions.
16 VALVE DOHC
The new engine is equipped with 16 valves
(4 valves per cylinder) operated by
double overhead camshafts, which help
in generating higher power and torque
while lowering fuel consumption. |
